Dyan Francis - President

Dyan Francis is the Business Development & Special Projects Manager for Messenger Community Newspapers, a News Ltd. company. With 15 years experience in Academic Publishing, based and working in the Asia Pacific region, Dyan brings to the APBCW a wealth of if knowledge in both International business and Asian cultural experience. Having served as the Vice President for Members and Sponsorship from late 2004 to mid 2005, Dyan is focussed and committed to growing the Council's membership base and expanding the benefits to all APBCW members.

Sue Shiying Yang - Vice President (Event Management & Sponsorship)

Sue has been working in agricultural research and plant science for more than 18 years. From Agronomist to Associate professor and director of dryland crop research laboratory at Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China; Research Scientist at the DArT PL , Australia. Sue finished her PhD from Charles Sturt University of Australia and currently working as a researcher at the University of Adelaide in the pulse project. Her major experiences are in molecular marker research (Diversity Array Technology); plant biotechnology, genetic diversity analysis, genetic mapping and Project management. She also involved in Comparative Genomic Hybridization experiment in human genome on fetal screening in reproductive science. Dr Yang has got four Science and Technology Awards from Chinese provincial government. Sue joined in APBCW committee as a vice president - event management in 2009.

Lorna Leung - Vice President (Memberships)

I graduated from University of South Australia in Bachelor of Business Management majoring in Marketing. I am currently working with BankSA in Commercial Division as an account executive. With my extensive experience and knowledge in banking finance and my Asian background enables me to understand my customers and their needs. I wish to share my experience with all members in the APBCW Committee via my role as a Vice President (Memberships).

Elena Sitnikova - Vice President (Communications)

Dr Elena Sitnikova is a professional researcher and academic in the Defence and Systems Institute (DASI), University of South Australia. Her career has included over fifteen years engineering experience in the space and IT industry and she has a combination of expertise in communication control systems, software and systems engineering. Elena's career background in both industry and academic environments has provided her with a solid respect and understanding of industry and government needs in areas of risk management, quality processes and compliance to standards that she has demonstrated in areas of research, education and knowledge application and will be highly valued on the boards of companies. She is a current member of the Australian Organisation of Quality (AOQ) South Australia Software Special Interest Group (SIG).

Wendy H. Wang - Vice President (CMarketing & PR)

I am studying Master of Quantitative Finance in UniSA. I also involve in several business activities. Right now, I'm the Director of Brilliant Ideal Pty. Ltd. and currently preparing a Photographic Festival called "Beauties of South Australia" which will be held at the end of this year. Also I'm working as Business Manager and Administrator in www.adelaidebbs.com which is a Chinese website target on overseas Chinese in Adelaide.

Teresita Sarmiento - Secretary

Teresita Sarmiento joins the APBCW committee with a vast range of experience and varied skills. Not only is she a registered Migration Agent but also a Certified Practicing Accountant. Terista is also a financial counsellor within a Government agency, where her time is spent assisting disadvantaged people and refugees. Since arriving in 1982 Terista has also been a very active member of the Filipino community here in South Australia.

Svetlana Obst - Treasurer

Svetlana Obst is the Accountant Manager for Baleen Filters Pty Limited, a local South Australian company manufacturing innovative filtration systems for use in water recycling and waste water treatment. In her capacity at BALEEN Svetlana has also been involved with trade promotion offshore. BALEEN is now exporting its products to 8 countries worldwide.

Svetlana has also served as Executive Member for the Russian Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc (RACCI) and has experience in promoting products and identification of opportunities for Australian companies in the Russian region.

Svetlana was previously a committee member for APBCW, and this year rejoined as a Treasurer.
